Welcome to FreeDailyMelody.com!  My name is Sean Patrick Hannifin.  I’m a self-taught digital orchestral composer, and you can check out some of the music I’ve written here.  Over the years, I’ve written hundreds of melodies, and I know I don’t have the time to use them all myself.  Rather then let them simply go to waste and be forever forgotten, I’ve decided to release them into public domain day by day.

Because the melodies I post here are being released into public domain, you may do anything you’d like with them, whether for personal use or commercial: use them in your own pieces, steal melodic fragments from them, use them to practice your orchestration or voice leading skills, write Christmas carols with them, or merely gain inspiration from them.  You won’t owe me anything, and you don’t even have to give me credit.  You just cannot copyright them yourself or stop someone else from using them.  (Though of course you’ll own the copyrights to any derivative works you create with them.  And if you’re willing to pay me, I’d of course be happy to sell some melodies exclusively to you.)
